Horses' Communion

Two heads lowered into the same bucket, two manes falling together until you cannot tell where one horse ends and the other begins. This is not two animals feeding. This is one mind, one soul, drinking from the same source.
They share everything without needing to agree on it — the space, the water, the sunlight, the ground under their feet. Nothing is divided and nothing is defended. There is no first and no second here, no hierarchy of thirst. Only a single presence wearing two bodies, breathing in the same rhythm, entirely inside this one moment and asking nothing of the next.
The light behind them is the point. These two have been looked after. Fed properly, watered properly, watched over through winters and through weather. And this is what care returns: a glow that isn't on the coat but under it — a spiritual sheen that only comes to a creature allowed to thrive. Nurture something honestly and it does not simply survive; it begins to shine, and the shine reaches back out to whoever gave it.
Hang this where you need that reminder. That you are not doing it alone. That being cared for properly is what lets you glow. And that peace is rarely dramatic — most often it looks like two heads bowed into the same water, together always, taking only what this moment is offering.
